Planning
Design Brief:
I'm going to make a house outside of the city of Calgary but still relatively close to Calgary for reasonable commutes to and from work reasonable in time and in distance. The main reasoning behind this is because Calgary is running out of space to build houses within it's city limits and eventually the city of Calgary will have no choice but to expand outwards or upwards however upwards could cause many potential issues and long construction times and other constraints. Outside of Calgary there is plenty of open land that is perfect for housing contractors to build up new homes for the people of Calgary which as of right now there isn't many houses or anything really at that matter. It will hopefully pay adherence to Calgarian home design traditions as a way of preserving them and setting an example for other houses that most likely will be built outside Calgary when the time comes.

Site:
For the site I was planning on having the house be in the Northern outskirts of Calgary. Due to the fact the land out there is mostly flat its incredibly easy to find a spot to build this home. Unfortunately I do not think there is going to be any views due to the land be very flat and with what little hills there are the hills aren't too big anyways so there most likely isn't going to be a view. The house is going to be facing South so that for the backyard it will hopefully get enough sunlight for whatever needs are required such as gardening. For outdoor living quarters There most likely is going to be a patio attached to a backyard which can be used for recreational uses as well as gardening uses. Lastly there will be vehicle access to the house as well as there is going to be a garage for said house to allow any hypothetical occupants with any vehicle(s) which they're most likely going to need to make the commute to and from work every day within a reasonable time and this way when they get home they can just store their vehicle(s) away without having to worry about getting any damages to their vehicle(s) or their vehicle(s) stolen or whatever else one could worry about when it comes to their vehicle(s).

Budget:
A typical home in Calgary is $470,088 with an average of 60 days being on the market as of September of 2018 however this price has changed most likely however this is the most recent time I could find which is why I'm going with it. Due to this the house I'm planning on building is going to range from around $470,088 to around $500,000 most likely in the $500,000 range because of the fact that this is a house outside the city currently as well as of the fact of how early this house is being made in a prime rel-estate development location that is rather early to reside in, in a way of speaking it's kinda like pre-ordering something before it even comes out.
